Today was the day we got to get up close with the cheetahs!
I’ll let the pictures tell the story – it was amazing!

Then it was a relaxed trip back home via Bowral & Mittagong.

After picking up our replacement new car this week, we thought it was time to head back to Canberra for the weekend.
We first went to the ACT back in 2005 specifically to do a tour of the National Zoo & Aquarium where you go “behind the scenes” & get to feed the tigers, bears etc. (worth every cent!). Another of the tours that they operate involves playing with the cheetahs – so that was the main objective!
Travelled south on Saturday (map of route below), via Robertson (pie shop & bikes!). Other “attractions” that we missed in 2005 was the NASA Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla, & the Observatory at Mount Stromlo (destroyed in the bush fires of January 2003). Photos of both are below the route map. The final shot is of the burnt out internals of the main telescope.
More photos will be added to the next post over time.
