On any given weekday I overlook Chatswood Oval from work, & not much happens there.
Yesterday afternoon was a different story. While several of the matches were moved to other grounds due to the poor condition of the field (yes, we have had some rain), both 2nd grade & 1st grade were still held.
Eastern Suburbs 1st grade was bolstered by the inclusion of two players from the Wallabies squad; Ryan Cross (ex Rooster, now with the Western Force), & Clyde Rathbone (Brumbies) returned from a long injury break. Two other Brumbies players also turned out for Eastern Suburbs – Saia Faingaa & Afusipa Taumeopeau.
Final Scores:
1st Grade – Gordon 36 def Eastern Suburbs 12
2nd Grade – Gordon 24 lost to Eastern Suburbs 36

After months of anticipation, we finally got to go to the Good Food & WIne Show tonight, & with that the half hour show by Gordon Ramsay.
We didn’t get the books signed (b’stards!), but the show was as good as anticipated & it appeared that all attendees enjoyed themselves. What did help was that we purchased tickets early on – before the organisers added a $15 surcharge for all Ramsay sessions. Sucked in if you didn’t get in early!!
Gordon started off proceedings with the obligatory jokes about other cooking shows & Chefs’ before putting together 3 courses – all prepped by Mark Sargeant (Sarge), who has worked with him for many years. We first saw him in Boiling Point as a Junior Sous Chef getting yelled at by Gordon! Talk about landing on your feet & working your way up the kitchen ladder!
Hopefully he will be back next year, as we will quite happily part with the $$$ to go again.
